Our main line of work

Hail damage roof repair and insurance claims

Most of the roofs we replace in Northern Colorado are paid for through a homeowner's insurance claim after hail. That is our main line of work. We inspect the roof for free, photograph and write up what the storm did, meet your adjuster on the roof, and then build the new roof, shingle or metal, with one crew from tear off to clean up.

What hail does to a roof

Hail damage is easy to miss from the ground. On an asphalt shingle roof it usually shows up as dark spots where the hail knocked the granules off, soft bruises in the shingle, or cracked and broken edges. Vents, flashing and the other metal on a roof often show dents first. On a metal roof, hail leaves dents, and whether those are covered depends on how your policy treats them.

Most of it will not leak the week after the storm. Once the granules are gone the shingle wears faster, and small breaks let water in, which a Colorado winter of freezing and thawing makes worse. That is why the inspection comes first.

How hail damage roof repair works with an insurance claim

Every insurer does things a little differently, but this is the shape of it. You do not need to know any of it before you call us.

1

The free inspection

We get on the roof and look at it properly. If there is hail damage, we photograph it and write up what we found. If there is not, we tell you, and there is no charge either way.

2

You decide about the claim

The claim is between you and your insurer, so the call is yours. If you file, you have our photos and write-up in hand instead of describing the damage from memory over the phone.

3

The adjuster visit

Your insurer sends an adjuster out. We meet them at your house and walk the roof together, so the damage they measure and the roof we quote are the same roof.

4

The build

Once the claim is settled, you pick shingle or metal and we book the work. Most houses take one or two days, depending on size and pitch: tear off, a check of the decking, underlayment and the new roof.

5

The clean up

We leave the work area better than it was when we arrived.

What the free inspection includes

No charge and no obligation
A proper look on the roof, not a glance from the driveway
Photos of any damage, and a written summary you can give your insurer
A straight answer, including when your roof is fine and you do not need us yet

Shingle or metal for the new roof

We install architectural asphalt shingles from Owens Corning, GAF, Malarkey and Tamko, and standing seam and metal panel roofs. Which one suits your house depends on the roof, how exposed it is and what your claim covers, and we walk you through the options before anything is ordered.

Houses only, across Northern Colorado

We are a family owned, BBB A+ accredited residential roofer based in Eaton, and we do not take commercial work. We cover Eaton, Ault, Pierce, Grover, Greeley, Fort Collins, Brighton, Kersey, Milliken, Johnstown and the towns in between.

Questions about hail damage and claims

Do I have to file a claim before you inspect?

No. The inspection comes first, and plenty of roofs come through a storm fine. You decide about a claim once you know what is up there.

Can you repair hail damage without an insurance claim?

Yes. We take out of pocket repairs and replacements too, on shingle and metal roofs.

What if the inspection finds nothing?

Then we tell you your roof is fine, and you owe us nothing.

Is it worth having the roof checked before winter?

If a storm came through this year and nobody has been up there since, yes. Snow and freeze and thaw make small breaks worse, and it is easier to sort out now than in February.

Had hail this year? Get the roof looked at.

Call us and we will come out, take a proper look and tell you what we find. No charge, and no pressure to do anything about it.
