What we collect

There are two ways information reaches us through this site.

What you type into a form

This site has two inspection request forms, one on the home page and one on the contact page. Both ask for your name, phone number, email address, the address or town of the property, and what is going on with the roof. The contact page form adds a message box. You decide what to put in those boxes.

There is no file upload on this site, and we never ask for payment card details, bank information or a Social Security number through this website. If anything ever asks you for those on a page claiming to be us, it is not us.

What is recorded automatically as you browse

Like most websites, ours records basic technical information about a visit: which pages were opened, roughly which town or region the visit came from, and what kind of device and browser were used. This comes from Google Analytics and from the standard activity logs our web host keeps. It is not attached to your name and we cannot use it to work out who you are.

Why we collect it

Information from a form is used for one thing: getting back to you about the roof you asked about, and carrying out the work if you decide to go ahead. The automatic information is used to understand which parts of the site are useful so we can improve it.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to anybody who wants to market to you. There are no advertising or social media tracking pixels on this site.

Getting back to you

When you send us your phone number through this site, you are asking us to get in touch about your roof, and we will, by phone, text or email, whichever looks quickest. That is the whole purpose of the form.

We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not send marketing texts, and we do not pass your number to anyone else. If you would rather we stopped contacting you, say so once and we will stop.

Where it goes

When you submit a form, two things happen. A copy is emailed to us so we see it straight away, and a copy is saved on this website so an enquiry is not lost if an email goes astray.

Beyond that, a small number of providers necessarily handle some of this in the course of running the site and the business:

• Our web host, which runs this website and stores the enquiries saved on it.
• Our email provider, which delivers the notification to us and carries any reply we send you.
• Google, which provides the visit statistics described above and the typefaces this site uses to display text. Loading those typefaces means your browser contacts Google when a page opens.

If your roof work goes ahead and it involves an insurance claim, we will share what the claim needs with your insurance company and their adjuster, and where it is relevant with the suppliers and crew doing the work. That happens only after you have asked us to help with a claim, and only as far as the claim requires.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site sets two kinds.

• Cookies that keep the site working. A session cookie and a couple of counters that tell the site whether you are on your first page or your fifth. They expire on their own and hold nothing personal about you.
• Google Analytics cookies, which count visits and tell us which pages get read.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. You can also switch off Google Analytics on every website you visit by installing Google’s own opt out add on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. None of that will stop you using this site or contacting us.

How long we keep things

We keep enquiries and job records for as long as we need them to look after you and to meet our business, insurance and tax record keeping obligations. Roofing work carries warranties and insurance claims have long tails, so a job file usually outlives the job itself.

If you would like an enquiry you sent us deleted, ask and we will delete it.

What you can ask us to do

You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, delete an enquiry or your details, or stop contacting you.

Call (970) 397-5306 or email crazyhorseroofing@yahoo.com. There is no form to fill in and no charge for asking. If there is something we cannot delete because we have to keep it for a warranty, an insurance claim or a tax record, we will tell you what it is and why.

Children

This site is for homeowners arranging roofing work. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something through this site, tell us and we will delete it.

Security

This site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it to book and carry out the work. No website can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously, and the best protection we can offer is that we do not collect information we do not need.

Links to other websites

This site links out to our Facebook page. Once you follow a link you are on somebody else’s website and their privacy policy applies there, not ours.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top of it.
